And Hilary Duff admits the main reason behind her decision not to crash diet is so she wasn't resentful of motherhood.
The actress showed that celebrities can be sensible about slimming down after delivering a child into the world and hit back at critics in an interview with In Touch magazine.

The 25-year-old spoke about her slow weight-loss process after having retired National Hockey League player husband Mike Comrie’s son Luca.
She said: ‘I’d rather be happy than bitter because I can’t eat anything good!’
Hilary explained that unlike some other stars, the focus was making sure her little boy is healthy and regarded 12 months as a good time frame to bounce back into shape.

The 5ft 2in star lost the 50lbs she gained during pregnancy by working out and eating in moderation.
‘It takes most women a year to get back into shape, but not celebrities,’ she commented. ‘I guess I’m just normal! My focus was on my son. I didn’t want to spend two hours in the gym every day.’
Hilary admits that shifting body mass was ‘harder than I thought it was going to be’ and revealed she is only just fitting back into her normal clothes.

Even before she became pregnant, Hilary famously fluctuated in weight.
After being told she was ‘too heavy’ as a teenager on TV, Hilary shocked when she appeared scarily skinny and run down aged 17 in 2005.
Now she is older and wiser, the self-confessed ‘worst dieter in the world knew that food would be her weakest point when it comes to going on dates with her 32-year-old spouse.
‘I feel like the minute I go on a diet, I get fat! We don’t eat a lot of carb-y things at home so when we go out for dinner, we definitely treat ourselves.’
After her battle of the bulge the former Lizzie McGuire star is not in a rush to expand her brood.

Instead she balancing the responsibilities of having one child with rebuilding her career.
She revealed: ‘I’ve also been working with Johnson’s Baby Cares and Save the Children, which support programs like early childhood education and help underprivileged new moms.
‘I’m making some new music and reading scripts. But it’s tough to commit – now that I’m a mom, whatever I work on has to really be worth it!’

Her chat comes as she was spotted in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday, taking her 14-month-old with her to do some grocery shopping.
She looked intelligent in her thick black rimmed spectacles as she channelled the geek chic trend, but also wore fashionable printed trousers.
Hilary paired the pieces with a plain black top and wore buckled ankle boots to run the errand.
